The heatwave that recently swept the UK lead to a mixed response from the nation. Some say it was simply too hot and others say they’d like it to remain a steady 30° for the rest of summer. But how has such a huge change in weather effected our garden?
Well as you’d have already guessed, the sunshine and heat have really made the garden flourish! There’s things that, until this heat, we were giving at least another week or so before they’d be ready to be used on the menu or be experimented with. But now everything’s caught up, leaving us with an abundance of strawberries, elderflowers and much much more!
It’s great to have so much produce, but also threatens the possibility of waste. Something we hate to ever have to do here. The chefs and Front of House team are in overdrive at the moment making sure we use what the garden is giving us. With new dishes going on the menu, and changes happening almost daily we’re hoping to make the most of such a bitter sweet situation.
Below are a collection of images taken by Tom (TB) and the team over the last week or so:
Oh and here’s just a few things that we’re currently harvesting or will be in the next few days!
Calendula marigolds (Yellow or Orange)
Tegetes marigolds (Gold or Orange or Lemon Gem)
Black Mint (looks like a tagetes marigold)
THERE’S JUST SO MANY THINGS TO WORK WITH!
Remember to keep an eye on our Instagram and Twitter to keep up to date with what’s in our garden.
